The Officers and Membership of I.B.E.W Local Union 257 whole heartily believe in, and actively  promotes, the objectives of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as stated in our Constitution:

“To organize all workers in the entire electrical industry in the United States and Canada, including all those in public utilities and electrical manufacturing, into local unions”.

I.B.E.W Local 257 welcomes  all unrepresented  electrical workers. We believe that all of us have the same aspirations, the right to earn a decent wage, security, a home we can call our own, a chance to give our children a good education, free from the worry about medical expenses (both for the employee and all dependents), and secure in the knowledge that at retirement age there will be more to count on than just Social Security for our golden years.   The I.B.E.W can offer you all the above and more along with several more choices.

You have the choice of working for thousands of contractors nationwide all providing excellent wages, employer paid health and welfare, employer paid pension plans and unrivaled training programs.

You have the choice of working for your present employer until the I.B.E.W can help find you something better.

You have the choice of helping to organize your current employer so they, too, will provide good wages and benefits.

Due to the I.B.E.W.’s aggressive organizing program that, by now, you know of someone who has joined a local union. Ask him or her what the differences are.

Your current non-union employer is unwilling and unable to provide you with the facts. If you believe all the Union is after are the proceeds from dues, print out the wage and benefit information on this site.  Take it to your current employer and ask him or her to match the wages and benefits. After the resounding NO, contact Local 257.  We sincere in our concern about you and your future and welcome the opportunity  to honestly answer any questions you may have concerning employment, wages, benefits, and Union Representation.

Your future is in your hands.

All you need to do is ask to speak to the organizer.
