The single most important thing
that any Union has to offer is skilled members. Our members must
successfully complete a 5 year apprenticeship program that includes
attending weekly 4 hour classes for 9 month out of every year of
apprenticeship and 8,000 hours of on the job training before they earn the
right to be classified as Journeyman Wireman.
With all the technological changes abounding in our industry we also offer ongoing training to our Journeymen so they can keep abreast of the latest in technology. These programs include fiber optics, programmable controllers, category 5, 6, and 7 data cabling, and variable frequency drives just to name a few. Our instructors are well qualified and receive additional training to insure that they have what it takes to get the job done. Not only have they taken the necessary training to secure their positions they also have many years of practical on the job experience. We take pride in the fact that we have the best trained and qualified work force anywhere. Our training program is accredited by the Federal Government and our Apprentices earn college credits for their efforts. |
